Software Engineer, Computer Vision / Image Processing (C++)

Location: Hybrid; on-site in the San Jose, CA office three days per week. Hiring is currently registered in selected U.S. states.

Salary: $190,000–$212,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Implement performance-critical imaging pipeline stages in C++, including bundle adjustment, orthorectification, image format handling, and reprojection.
• Expose optimized C++ components to Python and reduce image data product latency through high-throughput, low-latency services.
• Identify and migrate high-value Python workloads to C++ and GPU implementations, including GPU-based orthorectification.
• Develop and benchmark high-performance reference algorithms in partnership with HPC GPU specialists.
• Own unit, integration, verification, validation, and performance regression testing in CI.
• Produce technical designs, trade studies, and interface documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing performance-critical C++ software in production.
• Expert-level C++, including memory management, concurrency, and performance-oriented programming.
• Hands-on experience with bundle adjustment, orthorectification, image and geospatial formats, and high-throughput image-processing services.
• Experience integrating C++ components into Python pipelines and strong Python skills.
• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; access to export-controlled information requires U.S. person status, applicable authorization eligibility, or a reasonable likelihood of obtaining authorization.

Nice to have

• CUDA experience, especially for image-processing kernels.
• Photogrammetry or remote-sensing experience.
• High-throughput data movement using zero-copy buffers, RDMA, or shared memory.
• CI/CD for containerized workloads with performance regression testing.
• Experience with space, aerospace, or other mission-critical software environments.
