BI Engineer (Power BI)

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Build PySpark transformation logic for cleansing, enriching, aggregating, and preparing large datasets.
• Design dimensional data models using fact and dimension tables, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema.
• Integrate enterprise data sources and develop optimized SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
• Validate and reconcile data, investigate root causes, and optimize report and model performance.
• Define KPIs and reporting standards with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Engineering.
• Advanced Power BI development skills, including Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, semantic models, shared datasets, RLS, and enterprise reporting.
• Strong hands-on experience with PySpark, Spark SQL, large-scale data processing, incremental processing, and performance optimization.
• Advanced SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, query optimization, views, and stored procedures.
• Experience with dimensional modeling, data warehousing, Slowly Changing Dimensions, and scalable analytical data models.
• Experience working with Agile delivery teams and CI/CD practices for BI or data solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Git, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience in Banking, Insurance, Retail, or Financial Services.
• Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture, data governance, metadata management, or data quality frameworks.
• Experience mentoring junior BI developers.
