What you will do

• Coordinate macroeconomic analysis of Latin America and integrate local country perspectives into a consistent regional view.
• Develop and update independent economic assessments, identifying regional trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Design, prepare, and monitor macroeconomic scenarios for planning, budgeting, and stress-testing.
• Analyze economic, financial, and political developments and assess their implications for Santander.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for senior management, corporate committees, planning, and risk functions.
• Improve economic analysis methodologies and promote responsible use of artificial intelligence, automation, and data analysis tools.

Requirements

• Solid experience in macroeconomic analysis, economic forecasting, scenario design, coordination, or macro-financial risk assessment.
• Experience preparing, challenging, and defending macroeconomic forecasts and scenarios.
• Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders, teams, and geographies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related discipline; postgraduate education in Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of macroeconomics, international economics, emerging markets, econometrics, and quantitative forecasting methods.
• High-level spoken and written Spanish and English required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Latin American economies and regional risks and trends.
• Programming and data analysis experience with Python, R, Matlab, or Stata.
• Familiarity with generative artificial intelligence and automation tools.
• Knowledge of Portuguese.
