Location: On-site at Carilion - Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work in the United States.
Salary: $18.65–$20.50 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do
- Review uninsured and under-insured patients for Medicaid and financial assistance eligibility.
- Coordinate benefit and financial assistance applications and collect required patient documentation.
- Follow applications through determination and update insurance information.
- Ensure timely billing or adjustment posting and document actions in patient accounting systems.
- Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and share information with colleagues.
- Collaborate with Medicaid caseworkers and other revenue cycle departments.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of healthcare industry experience involving hospital financial issues and patient interaction.
- High school diploma or GED; relevant post-secondary education and experience may substitute.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
- Knowledge of health insurance requirements, authorizations, benefits verification, medical terminology, or procedure codes.
- CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire.
- Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

- Patient Access experience with managed care and insurance.
- Call center experience.
