What you will do
- Perform patient admitting, pre-registration, demographic collection, insurance information gathering, and physician order processing.
- Assign accurate medical record numbers and complete medical necessity, compliance, and insurance eligibility checks.
- Explain and process consent forms, Medicare and Tricare notices, observation forms, and other patient education documents.
- Collect point-of-service payments, past-due balances, and patient financial liability information, including payment plan options.
- Operate the hospital telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service.
- Audit patient accounts, correct documentation issues, and provide reporting data to Patient Access leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- Ability to demonstrate curiosity and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
- CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
- Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
