Software Engineer - New Grad (AI)

Location: Hybrid/on-site in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada; candidates must reside in the Lower Mainland and hold valid Canadian work authorization.

What you will do

• Participate in software design, implementation, testing, and peer review.
• Collaborate with engineers to build and optimize core systems.
• Support customers through project scoping, proofs of concept, early trials, and production or escalation support.
• Contribute to shaping the startup’s culture, processes, and future direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus internship experience.
• Proficiency in Python, C, or C++.
• Understanding of systems software, including embedded and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, quick learning ability, and effective collaboration and communication.
• Residence in the Lower Mainland and valid Canadian work authorization are required.
• Ability to ask questions and take ownership of projects.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker.
• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases.
