Associate Counsel (Commercial Contracts)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria. Candidates must be eligible to work in Bulgaria as EU/EEA/Swiss nationals or holders of a valid Bulgarian work and residence permit.

What you will do

• Draft and negotiate client license agreements, vendor agreements, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, confidentiality agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Support agreements involving EMEA and US law and counterparties based in those regions.
• Manage the contract lifecycle from drafting and negotiation through execution.
• Interpret contracts and advise product development, sales, finance, and other internal teams on contractual rights and obligations.
• Partner with Finance, Marketing, Information Security, Compliance, and Human Resources on enterprise risk management and compliance.
• Customize contracts, prepare legal documents, and provide general support to the global Legal and Sales teams.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a licensed, practicing lawyer.
• General commercial and corporate law experience, including reviewing and drafting commercial contracts.
• Law degree from a reputable and accredited institution.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, judgment, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken, is required.
• Eligibility to work in Bulgaria is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in mergers and acquisitions, financing, software licensing, intellectual property, or technology law.
