Substation Design Technician (CAD)

Location: Hybrid, Cincinnati, Ohio; must live within a reasonable commute of the 4th & Main headquarters and work three days per week in the Cincinnati office after onboarding.

Pay rate: $42.12 per hour

What you will do

• Identify substation equipment, layout requirements, plans, sections, panel elevations, and basic wiring designs.
• Read manufacturer drawings, catalogs, and application information to create construction documents.
• Prepare detailed drawings showing existing and proposed facility locations.
• Perform equipment layouts according to company standards and industry codes.
• Prepare material requirements, labor estimates, bills of material, and requisitions.
• Guide employees in lower classifications and support the use of established work procedures.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience as a Technician in the Substation line of progression or equivalent experience.
• At least 60 quarter credits in an approved engineering or technical program, or a department-recognized degree.
• Demonstrated proficiency in drafting standards, symbols, nomenclature, CAD tools, engineering terminology, materials, reference books, and catalogs.
• Ability to successfully complete EEI Tech testing and pass the examination required for entry into the position.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship.
