Python Software Engineer (AI): Developing and reviewing production-quality backend and full-stack software for project-based engagements with an accent on debugging, feature development, refactoring, migrations, and testing. Focus on navigating complex multi-file codebases, identifying edge cases and failure modes, and validating alignment between requirements, code, tests, and expected outputs.
Location: Ecuador — fully remote
Compensation: $45–$80 per hour

What you will do
- Debug and resolve issues across complex, multi-file codebases.
- Implement backend or full-stack functionality in production systems.
- Refactor and migrate existing systems.
- Develop and extend unit and integration test suites.
- Write technical specifications and reference implementations.
- Review code and technical submissions for correctness, quality, edge cases, and failure modes.
Requirements
- 2–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of Java, C#, Go, or another additional programming language.
- Backend or full-stack experience with production systems and large, multi-file codebases.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing.
- Advanced professional written English proficiency, with strong technical problem-solving and attention to detail.
