Python Software Engineer (AI) (Python/backend and full-stack software engineering): Building and improving production software for scoped AI-lab projects with an accent on debugging, feature development, migrations, testing, and technical review. Focus on navigating complex codebases, validating requirements and outputs, and delivering robust implementations with clear documentation.
Location: Brazil; remote
Compensation: $45–$80 per hour

What you will do
- Debug issues and implement backend or full-stack functionality in complex, multi-file codebases.
- Refactor and migrate existing systems while maintaining production quality.
- Develop and extend unit and integration test suites.
- Write technical specifications and reference implementations.
- Review code and technical submissions for correctness, quality, and edge cases.
- Validate alignment between requirements, code, tests, and expected outputs.
Requirements
- 2–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of at least one additional language: Java, C#, or Go.
- Backend or full-stack experience with production systems and testing frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing.
- Experience with code reviews, refactoring, production migrations, and large codebases.
- Advanced professional written English, strong attention to detail, and technical problem-solving skills.
