TL;DR
Backend Developer (AI) (Python/JavaScript/TypeScript): Designing and evaluating production-realistic software engineering tasks for a leading AI lab with an accent on backend development, testing, debugging, and codebase navigation. Focus on implementing multi-file fixes and features, building reference implementations and test suites, and reviewing complex coding scenarios for correctness and realism.
Location: Remote from Spain
Compensation: $45–$80 per hour; hourly rates are estimates based on anticipated project completion time.

What you will do
- Design and implement multi-file coding tasks covering bug fixes, feature development, refactoring, migrations, and testing.
- Write clear specifications and complete reference implementations.
- Develop and extend unit and integration test suites.
- Review peer-generated tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment between specifications, code, and expected outputs.
- Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes.
Requirements
- Advanced professional written English proficiency.
- 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go.
- Production experience with backend or full-stack development, testing frameworks, debugging, large codebases, code reviews, refactoring, and production migrations.
