Backend Developer (Python/JavaScript)

Location: Remote from France

Compensation: $25–$50 per hour, with hourly rates estimated from anticipated project completion time

What you will do

• Design and implement multi-file coding tasks for bug fixing, feature development, refactoring, migration, and testing.
• Write clear natural-language specifications and complete reference implementations.
• Develop and extend unit and integration test suites.
• Review peer-generated tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with expected outputs.
• Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes.

Requirements

• Advanced professional written English proficiency.
• 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, plus working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go.
• Backend or full-stack development experience with production systems.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing.
• Ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases, perform code reviews, refactor systems, and support production migrations.
