Operations Manager (Remote Camp)

Location: Northwestern Ontario, Canada; remote camp sites with required travel, including fly-in/fly-out and helicopter-access locations

Salary: CAD 95,000–107,000 annually, paid on a daily rate

What you will do

• Oversee the performance and operational delivery of multiple remote camp contracts across the district.
• Standardize SOPs, reporting tools, service models, and operational systems across sites.
• Lead health, safety, quality, emergency preparedness, incident response, and compliance programs.
• Manage regional budgets, P&L performance, purchasing, audits, and corrective actions.
• Build client relationships, resolve escalated issues, and coordinate strategic initiatives with regional leadership.
• Mentor site leaders and direct reports while supporting staffing plans, training, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive management experience in hospitality, remote camp operations, or a similar field.
• Leadership experience with employee development, retention, client service, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance; WHMIS and relevant safety certifications or willingness to obtain them.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively, including long drives and access to remote sites.
• Ability to work 75% or more in the field, on long shifts and a two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotational schedule.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, extended periods away from home, and in varying or extreme weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary education in business, hospitality, or a related discipline.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, operational management tools, FTQ, or Sphera platforms.
