Platform Engineer (Edge Networking)

Supabase is a Postgres development platform providing integrated Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search services.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the Supabase Cloud offering and global edge router platform.
• Design API-driven routing logic to dynamically steer customer traffic.
• Work with DNS, WAF, IP networking, TLS termination, CDN integrations, and global load balancing.
• Implement observability for metrics, logs, latency, traffic shaping, routing health, and failure mitigation.
• Improve reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency across cloud regions.
• Design CI/CD systems, participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and resolve systemic platform issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure.
• 4+ years of experience building and operating high-scale networking or edge infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS certificate management, CDN internals, load balancing, and global routing.
• Experience with traffic proxies or routers such as Envoy, NGINX, HAProxy, or Traefik.
• Strong software engineering, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, especially with Go and distributed systems.
• Experience with high availability, failover, observability, cloud networking, large AWS/GCP/Azure deployments, Infrastructure as Code, and production on-call rotations.
