Senior Software Engineer (iGaming)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; attendance at the Manchester studio is required 4 days per week. Regular on-site work is essential for developing, testing, and troubleshooting software on gaming machines and specialist hardware.

What you will do

• Port existing C/C++ game titles to a new platform as part of a planned porting programme.
• Analyse codebases, identify external dependencies, and implement the changes required for each port.
• Write maintainable, efficient code and tune performance, rendering, and behaviour to match the original titles.
• Establish and document a repeatable porting process, then guide and review other engineers applying it.
• Use Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools for code analysis, conversion, and testing.
• Collaborate with QA engineers on defect investigation, verification, code reviews, and release-quality delivery.

Requirements

• Advanced C and C++ skills, including memory management, performance optimisation, and low-level debugging.
• Hands-on graphics programming experience with DirectX and/or OpenGL and rendering pipelines.
• Commercial experience porting or migrating games or comparable software, including performance tuning.
• Experience creating technical documentation, reviewing work, and providing technical direction.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT.
• Must already have the right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with large, legacy, or unfamiliar codebases and commercial game titles.
• Knowledge of casino, mobile, web, or regulated gaming platforms.
• Familiarity with build systems, development toolchains, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile development.
