What you will do
- Coordinate environmental activities, compliance programs, permits, policies, standards, and strategic environmental goals across assigned regions, plants, and projects.
- Provide training, guidance, and assistance on environmental requirements and help develop training materials.
- Respond to releases or discharges of regulated substances, including agency notifications, contractor coordination, cleanup direction, and regulatory follow-up reports.
- Support environmental compliance reviews, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, remediation projects, and public inquiries.
- Maintain environmental documents and records, review disposal contractors and facilities, and manage related Environmental Services contracts.
- Oversee direct reports, including feedback, skills development, time approval, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related discipline.
- For the Principal level: 12 years of environmental experience with an associate degree or 10 years with a bachelor's degree.
- Advanced knowledge of storage tanks, hazardous materials transportation, waste management, spill prevention and response, water programs, air emissions, asbestos, PCBs, pollution prevention, environmental assessments, and emergency planning.
- Valid driver's license and ability to perform sedentary to light-duty work.
- Travel of 20%–40%, including occasional overnight stays, and minimal after-hours or weekend phone availability.
- Ability to work autonomously, solve problems, communicate effectively, and assume manager responsibilities when needed.
