Senior Software Engineer (Ruby/Rails)

Salary: €77,000–€92,000 gross per year, based on a 40-hour work week

What you will do

• Own a clearly defined scope end-to-end, from initial idea through production, and lead within the team.
• Design, build, and run proof-of-concept projects to validate technical decisions before full implementation.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain core backend applications and services.
• Contribute to high-level architecture focused on scalability, performance, availability, and security.
• Build deep knowledge of the legal and procedural aspects of In-Court and After-Court debt collection.
• Collaborate with Product on roadmap development and enhance the AI-based platform using AI-augmented development tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 1 year working on medium-to-large projects.
• Strong backend experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails, which is required for the role.
• Experience with TDD, CI/CD, and clean, maintainable backend code and infrastructure.
• Ability to independently scope, drive, and deliver projects with minimal supervision.
• Comfort working in Agile environments, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Solid English communication skills and genuine interest in AI-based technologies.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Go or Python.
• Financial or accounting industry experience.
• Frontend experience with Vue.js and GraphQL.
• Infrastructure experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, or Linux.
• Knowledge of Node.js, Rust, or Java.
