Software Development Engineer II (AI)

What you will do

• Design and deliver mission-critical solutions for AWS partners across security, AI/ML, distributed systems, databases, networking, and emerging AWS services.
• Architect integrations between strategic partners such as SAP and AWS-native services, including data flow, identity management, and compliance capabilities.
• Create technical specifications and use AI agents, large language models, and generative AI tools to prototype and validate solutions.
• Own full-stack development from system design through deployment, with focus on availability, performance, testing, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with product, security, AI research, customers, and partners to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Mentor junior engineers, participate in architecture reviews and code reviews, and troubleshoot complex distributed-system failures.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional, non-internship software development experience.
• 4+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Programming experience in at least one software programming language.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, architecture, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Preferred: production experience developing or deploying large language models and deep knowledge of agentic AI tools, agents, workflows, and integration patterns.
