Engineering Intern (AI)

Location: Cork, Ireland; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the Cork office

hirify.global develops enterprise data infrastructure and storage technologies, including the ONTAP operating system and cloud-integrated data services.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize system-level code for the ONTAP operating system using C, C++, and Python.
• Learn the existing ONTAP architecture and contribute to the design and implementation of new features.
• Explore and integrate AI-based techniques for data management.
• Use AI to investigate code functionality, improve existing tests, and develop new tests and features.
• Document design, implementation, and testing processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and receive mentorship on data management technologies.

Requirements

• Current bachelor’s student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Suitable for a third-year student seeking a six-month internship as part of a degree programme.
• Working knowledge of C, C++, and Python.
• Basic understanding of operating system kernel architecture and debugging tools.
• Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, with interest in applying them to data management.
• Unrestricted right to work in Ireland for the full internship period is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.
