Senior Data Scientist (AI)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end data science initiatives from problem definition and exploratory analysis through validation and productionisation.
• Analyse behavioural, automotive, and business data to identify patterns, opportunities, and actionable insights.
• Develop recommendation, ranking, personalisation, customer-intent, candidate-generation, and behavioural-modelling solutions.
• Design offline and online evaluations, establish baselines, and run experiments such as A/B tests to measure customer and commercial impact.
• Apply standards for model development, evaluation, reproducibility, documentation, and governance.
• Collaborate with Technology, Data, Product, and Commercial stakeholders to communicate findings and support adoption.

Requirements

• Substantial hands-on experience applying statistical modelling and machine learning to complex customer or business problems.
• Experience delivering end-to-end data science solutions with measurable impact.
• Strong knowledge of experimentation and evaluation, including offline and online testing, credible baselines, and A/B testing.
• Advanced programming skills for large-scale data preparation and production-quality modelling code.
• Familiarity with AWS, including SageMaker, Snowflake, Databricks, and model-lifecycle platforms such as MLflow or Metaflow.
• Full-time Australian working rights are required, and successful candidates must complete a National Police Record check.

Nice to have

• Domain expertise in recommendation, ranking, and personalisation.
• Experience with two-tower architectures, semantic embeddings, sequence modelling, or cold-start strategies.
