Senior Software Engineer (Java Backend)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands — hybrid

Salary: €85–90 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Build and deliver backend services in a high-traffic environment.
• Develop business-critical systems using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and API integrations.
• Lead cross-team initiatives and define technical strategy and roadmaps.
• Work autonomously while coordinating with teams and stakeholders.
• Design and support cloud infrastructure, streaming platforms, and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, Terraform, CI/CD, Kafka, and AWS.
• Experience with streaming platforms such as Flink or Kafka Streams.
• Technical judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver business impact across teams.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
• Availability to work in a hybrid setup in Amsterdam.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.
