Senior Full Stack Engineer

Location: On-site in Chicago, United States, or Mexico City, Mexico

Salary: $50–$55 USD per hour for a contract role.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services with Python and frontend applications with Vue.
• Build event-driven microservices using PubSub messaging and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Develop PostgreSQL data models, including revision-based and audit-trail schemas, and manage Alembic migrations.
• Deploy and manage services on GCP, including Cloud Run, GCS, IAM, service accounts, and Secret Manager.
• Build containerized applications with Docker and support CI/CD pipelines through GitHub Actions.
• Implement security and data protection measures, troubleshoot defects, provide technical support, and document system architecture.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, preferably FastAPI; Flask or Django are also considered.
• Experience building component-based user interfaces with Vue.
• Experience with GCP services, event-driven microservice architecture, PostgreSQL, revision-based data models, and Alembic migrations.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with occasional availability to resolve urgent application issues outside business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with AlloyDB, Terraform, Spacelift, GitHub Actions, or Elasticsearch.
