Android Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco; Remote (US). Work arrangement: On-site.

Salary: $220,000–$300,000 for L5 Senior or $270,000–$350,000 for L6 Staff, plus equity.

Wispr Flow is an AI research and product company building voice interfaces for computing, including Flow for natural voice interaction and Notetaker for conversation context.

What you will do

• Own reliability and performance across Android versions and device manufacturers.
• Identify systemic failure modes and build durable root-level fixes.
• Improve observability, diagnostics, instrumentation, testing, and operational feedback loops.
• Evolve the architecture and shared foundations behind Flow on Android.
• Build the foundation for future Wispr product experiences on Android.

Requirements

• Deep, recent experience building production Android applications or platforms.
• Strong understanding of the Android platform and ecosystem.
• Experience solving technical problems caused by device fragmentation and manufacturer-specific behavior.
• Systems-oriented approach to solving problems at their root.
• Experience driving toward 99.99%+ reliability through instrumentation, testing, or diagnostics.
• Ability to serve as the primary Android specialist on a small team.

Nice to have

• Experience with voice, machine learning, or iOS.
