What you will do

• Design scalable data pipelines for high-volume sensor and metrology data from semiconductor manufacturing systems.
• Identify physical relationships and develop predictive and control algorithms using physics-based methods and machine learning.
• Build physics-informed neural networks, ML surrogates, and reduced-order models based on rigorous physics simulations.
• Develop maintainable software modules and integrate algorithms with manufacturing tools, control systems, dashboards, and user-facing applications.
• Analyze model accuracy and performance tradeoffs, improve simulations, and optimize real-time execution.
• Collaborate with physics, engineering, software development, and data science specialists on complex automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in physics, applied mathematics, computational chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Alternatively, a master’s degree in one of these fields plus at least 2 years of relevant industry or research experience.
• Expertise in theoretical physics, applied mathematics, computational science, or simulation-driven engineering.
• Working knowledge of machine learning, data science, and statistical modeling.
• Strong software engineering skills with the ability to produce clean, scalable, production-ready code.
• Ability to work with physical systems, sensors, instrumentation, hardware, robotics, and interdisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Public GitHub repositories, open-source contributions, peer-reviewed publications, or equivalent technical work.
• Experience with computer-aided engineering, engineering simulation, physical modeling, or complex-system analysis.
• Experience applying machine learning to scientific, engineering, or industrial problems.
