Platform Information Security Officer (PISO), Life Sciences Platform

Location: USA - Remote; remote/hybrid role based in Washington, D.C. with regular international travel to sites across North America, Europe, and Asia. Travel required 25–30% of the time.

Annual salary: $225,000–$275,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end cybersecurity execution across all Life Sciences operating companies and translate global security standards into measurable outcomes.
• Build and lead a globally distributed platform security team across architecture, engineering, risk, assurance, data and AI security, program management, and manufacturing security.
• Manage cyber risk registers, vulnerability prioritization, remediation, architecture reviews, security standards, and control integration across enterprise, cloud, and connected medical device environments.
• Lead cyber assurance programs, customer security questionnaires, audits, ISO 27001, HITRUST, SOC 2, PCI DSS, and related certifications.
• Coordinate product security for connected medical devices, including FDA cybersecurity requirements, SBOM, vulnerability management, and PSIRT operations.
• Secure OT and manufacturing environments, coordinate acquisition integration, and run the platform cyber PMO across multiple time zones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 12+ years of information security experience, including ownership of cybersecurity functions across multiple business units, sites, or operating companies.
• Experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, divisional or business-unit CISO, or equivalent senior cybersecurity leader.
• Experience with ISO 27001, SOC 2, HITRUST, customer assurance, GxP environments, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, and computer system validation.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams, operating in matrixed organizations, and managing cybersecurity across multiple countries and data-protection regimes including GDPR, HIPAA, or China PIPL.
• Experience with cyber diligence and post-close integration for mergers and acquisitions.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity leadership experience in biopharma, life sciences, reagents, instruments, CDMO, GMP manufacturing, or pharma-focused SaaS.
• Experience with OT/ICS security, IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, or ISPE GAMP 5.
• Experience protecting research intellectual property, customer molecules, trade secrets, and insider risk in high-IP environments.
