TL;DR
Incident and Preparedness Specialist (Cyber Security): Coordinating cyber incident response, preparedness exercises, assessments, training, and resilience reporting with an accent on containment, remediation, recovery, and business continuity. Focus on leading high-pressure incident management, assessing business impact, coordinating senior stakeholders, and improving operational readiness across BT.

Location: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office; based in Bristol or Manchester, United Kingdom

What you will do

  • Coordinate Priority 3 through Priority 1 cyber incident response, including containment, remediation, recovery, communications, and reporting.
  • Maintain major cyber incident preparedness through exercises, simulations, training, assessments, and cross-functional engagement.
  • Execute and improve Security Bronze-level incident management processes within the Business Continuity Management framework.
  • Create, analyse, and report cyber preparedness metrics, KPIs, and management information.
  • Build relationships with Cyber Operations, security teams, business stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and industry organisations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in cyber resilience, incident management capabilities, processes, and technologies.

Requirements

  • SC Clearance eligibility is required.
  • At least three years of experience in cyber security, incident management, crisis management, or another complex operational environment.
  • Understanding of cyber security fundamentals and cyber incident response and management.
  • Ability to interpret data, assess risk and business impact, and prioritise incident response actions.
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders, including managing director-level contacts, and using security or IT tooling to interpret data.
  • Experience leading high-pressure incident response, creating exercises and simulations, and coordinating containment efforts.
