Product Design Engineer III (Electro-Mechanical)

What you will do

• Lead complex new product development, product improvement, cost-reduction, compliance, special product, and sustaining engineering projects from concept through release.
• Design and validate electro-mechanical and plumbing components and assemblies for performance, manufacturability, cost, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Define technical approaches, resolve ambiguous engineering challenges, and serve as technical authority for assigned products and major programs.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEAs, design verification planning and reporting, technical risk reviews, corrective actions, and advanced engineering analyses.
• Coordinate designers, engineers, laboratory resources, suppliers, and contracted services across cross-functional projects.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, supply chain, sales, compliance, and customer-facing teams while mentoring junior product engineers and designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience preferred, ideally involving commercial plumbing, safety, washroom, electro-mechanical, or related products.
• Advanced experience with electro-mechanical and plumbing systems and manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, casting, stamping, machining, injection molding, coating, and assembly.
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, material selection, design for manufacturability, regulatory requirements, product validation, and certification.
• Advanced proficiency with CAD and PDM or vault systems, including SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, make technical decisions independently, mentor engineers, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, professional engineering registration, project management certification, or another advanced technical credential.
