Data Editor (Scientific Data) (Chemistry/Spectroscopy): Curating, validating, and maintaining scientific datasets and metadata for databases, software platforms, APIs, and scientific information products with an accent on data quality, scientific accuracy, and customer workflows. Focus on evaluating analytical data, developing editorial plans, improving content scalability, and collaborating with product, engineering, scientific, and commercial teams.
Location: Remote, Ontario, Canada
Salary: 55,100.00–75,233.33 CAD per year

What you will do
- Curate, validate, and maintain scientific datasets and metadata for digital products.
- Evaluate scientific content against customer workflows, product requirements, and scientific best practices.
- Develop editorial plans and prioritize content supporting customer and business needs.
- Acquire and manage scientific content from internal and external sources.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, scientific, and commercial teams on product development and releases.
- Improve editorial processes, data quality, and content scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Materials Science, Chemical Information Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of spectroscopy and analytical chemistry through coursework, laboratory work, research, or internships.
- Experience with scientific data analysis, validation, interpretation, or quality assessment.
- Familiarity with Python, R, MATLAB, or similar scientific data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with structured scientific data formats such as CSV, XML, JSON, JCAMP-DX, or SDF.
- Understanding of Agile or iterative project delivery and strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with IR, Raman, NMR, UV-Vis, GC-MS, or LC-MS.
- Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or SciPy.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, scientific databases, laboratory information systems, or scientific software.
- Research, co-op, internship, or industry experience involving scientific data management.
