Senior Manager, Public Affairs (sustainable packaging and public policy): Driving Huhtamaki’s Group-wide public affairs agenda through Finnish and EU policymaker engagement, regulatory analysis, and cross-functional policy alignment with an accent on packaging, circular economy, product policy, and sustainability regulation. Focus on translating legislation into commercial and operational implications, developing evidence-based advocacy positions, and coordinating credible Group-wide responses across markets and business segments.
Location: Hybrid role based at ’s Headquarters in Espoo, Finland

What you will do
- Define and execute the Group public affairs strategy, annual priorities, and advocacy plans.
- Monitor Finnish, EU, and priority-market legislative and political developments, especially in packaging, circular economy, product policy, and sustainability regulation.
- Translate policy developments into assessments of commercial, operational, financial, and reputational risks and opportunities.
- Develop policy briefs, scenarios, executive updates, company positions, consultation responses, and advocacy materials.
- Build relationships with Finnish government officials, regulators, Members of the European Parliament, EU institutions, and industry stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional public affairs projects, align differing business interests, support executive decisions, and manage external advisers and agencies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in public affairs, public policy, or a related area.
- Fluent English required; Finnish and other languages are advantageous.
- Knowledge of EU institutions and legislative processes, with experience engaging senior policymakers and regulatory authorities.
- Strong communication, analytical judgment, project management, and leadership skills, including the ability to influence without formal authority in a matrix organization.
- Experience connecting policy choices to commercial and operational implications and using digital and AI-based tools to improve efficiency.
