TL;DR
Presales Consultant (Fintech): Designing and presenting demos, workshops, and future-state architectures for buy-side financial services clients using the FINBOURNE platform, with an accent on consultative selling, API-first solutions, Python, SQL, and Claude Code. Focus on translating business requirements into platform architectures, advising Sales and prospective clients, and collaborating with Product and Engineering to shape effective solutions.
Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; hybrid with regular attendance at the Sydney office required

What you will do
- Design and deliver product demonstrations and workshops for technical and non-technical prospective clients.
- Create bespoke demonstrations using software toolkits, primarily Python, SQL, and Claude Code.
- Lead architectural discussions, gather business requirements, and design future-state solutions on the platform.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to develop optimal client solutions.
- Build deep product and technical expertise, train Sales colleagues, and provide client feedback to the Product team.
Requirements
- Experience working in financial services.
- Confidence presenting demos and workshops both in person and online.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to discuss financial concepts with clients at COO and CTO level.
- Ability to work regularly from the Sydney office in a hybrid arrangement.
Nice to have
- Experience writing against APIs, primarily using Python and SQL with Claude Code.
- Technical presales, vendor, consultancy, banking, asset management, or asset servicing experience.
- Knowledge of buy-side workflows, including portfolio and order management, transaction lifecycle, transfer agency, and fund accounting.
- Knowledge of investment and accounting books of records, portfolio management, enterprise data management, or order management systems.
- Experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, AWS, Azure, Git, or Jupyter Notebooks.
