Senior Director, Enterprise Data Management (Fintech)

Location: Canada (Remote)

Salary: $190,000–$230,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise data strategy aligned with product, AI, and commercial objectives.
• Lead the convergence of transactional, operational, and analytical data into a unified operational backbone.
• Establish data governance, classification, access controls, quality standards, catalogues, asset registries, and health dashboards.
• Prepare data infrastructure for ML pipelines, LLM serving layers, agentic capabilities, semantic models, and real-time data serving.
• Develop governed external data products and partner with Commercial to turn proprietary network data into recurring revenue.
• Lead and grow the Data Platform Team while partnering with Product, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Analytics.

Requirements

• 10+ years of data leadership experience, including 5+ years at Director level owning enterprise data strategy, architecture, or governance.
• Experience modernizing complex, multi-source data environments at scale, preferably in SaaS, fintech, or payments.
• Deep knowledge of cloud data warehouses, preferably Snowflake, lakehouse architectures, ETL frameworks, and semantic or canonical modelling.
• Experience applying AI and ML infrastructure practices, including data governance, observability, and standards for safe AI deployment.
• Experience leading technical teams, managing data platform costs, forecasting, and hiring across BI, Analytics, Data Engineering, and data-platform CI/CD.
• Experience governing data for commercial use, including external data products, consent frameworks, lineage, and privacy compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic AI architecture, MCP, or LLM serving layers.
• Experience with AR/AP automation, payments, or working capital platforms.
• Experience commercializing data products through data assets, external APIs, or data-sharing programs.
• Experience with AWS-native data infrastructure, including Glue, SageMaker, and Bedrock, alongside Snowflake and modern BI tools.
• Background in a PE-backed, high-growth SaaS environment.
