Lead Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for market-data feed services operating across Egypt, the UAE, the US, and soon Saudi Arabia.
• Lead the team responsible for building and operating low-latency, highly reliable feed systems handling 100,000+ assets and hundreds of thousands of price updates per second.
• Own service-level objectives, observability, on-call practices, graceful failover, and overall system health.
• Define database and data-model usage across Redis, ClickHouse, and PostgreSQL.
• Own feed infrastructure and design redundancy against provider, connection, and infrastructure failures.
• Improve technical debt, reliability, code quality, design practices, and engineer development through reviews, pairing, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing, delivering, and operating reliable production backend systems at scale.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, latency, throughput, correctness, failure handling, and real-time performance.
• Experience owning systems end to end, including production operations and on-call, and leading or mentoring engineers.
• Familiarity with Python, C#, .NET Core, Golang, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, and ClickHouse, or the ability to learn the stack quickly.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to set technical direction and collaborate with dependent engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse or similar OLAP databases and performance-oriented query and schema design.
• Experience in fintech, brokerage, trading, or another regulated, high-stakes domain.
• Experience operating hybrid infrastructure across on-premises environments and AWS.
