TL;DR
Middleweight Industrial Designer (CMF Focus) (Industrial Design/CMF): Supporting physical product design from concept through production with an accent on colour, materials, finishes, manufacturing, and product visualisation. Focus on developing CMF concepts, creating prototypes and design documentation, collaborating with engineering and product teams, and maintaining design intent through manufacture.
Location: London, UK; hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week

What you will do
- Support industrial design of physical products from concept through production.
- Develop creative design concepts balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical requirements.
- Explore colour, material, and finish opportunities and support the CMF library.
- Create visualisations, prototypes, presentations, and design documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, UX, packaging, product teams, and suppliers.
- Participate in design reviews and production sample reviews to maintain design intent.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related discipline.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong industrial design fundamentals and sensitivity to colour, material, and finish; portfolio submission is required with the application.
- Hands-on experience developing products from concept through production in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong visual communication skills, including sketching, rendering, model-making, and presentation design.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, visualisation software, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Appropriate right to work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Experience working on CMF-focused projects.
- Experience with material libraries, trend research, or material innovation programmes.
- Experience designing consumer electronics or other high-volume manufactured products.
