Data Scientist (Energy Trading): Building and improving day-ahead energy consumption forecasting models and virtual power plant models with an accent on production-grade Python systems, model lifecycle ownership, and live trading reliability. Focus on deploying time-series models, integrating model outputs with backend infrastructure, diagnosing model drift and data failures, and improving forecasting accuracy for energy trading outcomes.
Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Stockholm, or Amsterdam

What you will do
- Build and improve day-ahead energy consumption forecasting models used for power purchase decisions.
- Own the full model lifecycle, including problem framing, data sourcing, development, deployment, and performance monitoring.
- Turn exploratory notebooks into reliable, production-ready Python systems for live trading conditions.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate model outputs into production infrastructure.
- Diagnose missing data, model drift, and unexpected forecast failures.
- Improve the accuracy and reliability of forecasting systems and their impact on trading outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience building and deploying forecasting or time-series models in production.
- Strong Python skills for data wrangling and production code.
- Experience owning projects end to end, from scoping and data sourcing to measured outcomes.
- Interest in understanding energy trading and power market mechanics.
- Ability to work collaboratively, learn from others, and share knowledge.
Nice to have
- Experience in energy, power markets, or demand forecasting in regulated markets.
- Interest in using AI tools to build smarter and faster data science workflows.
