Software Engineer (Retail Demo) (Unity): Developing and maintaining a motion-based retail demo launcher for Nex Playground with an accent on Unity game development, regional customization, performance optimization, and CMS integrations. Location: Hong Kong; occasional international travel to the EU, Japan, or the US. Collaboration across time zones requires clearly defined overlap windows.

What you will do
- Innovate and iterate on the motion-based retail demo launcher used by customers in retail stores.
- Maintain regional customizations, including localization, age ratings, and country-specific legal compliance.
- Tune and optimize performance to keep the software running smoothly.
- Maintain the integration library that connects games with the retail demo and handles common lifecycle events.
- Work with publishing to deliver periodic content updates and integrate with CMS systems.
- Collaborate closely with QA to keep the retail demo experience robust and stable.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Unity game development.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Experience working with software involving multiple components or systems.
- Strong empathy for users and potential customers.
- Availability for a 6-month contract, with the possibility of renewal or conversion.
