Software Developer (C++) (AI and industrial sorting systems): Developing and optimizing C++ software for intelligent sensor-based sorting machines, including machine logic, production jigs, and quality-control systems with an accent on sensor-data processing, AI-supported technologies, and hands-on machine testing. Focus on implementing software modules, troubleshooting real operating conditions, and integrating software with electrical and mechanical engineering systems.
Location: Hybrid role based in Mülheim-Kärlich, Germany

What you will do
- Develop and optimize modern C++ software for sensor-based sorting machines.
- Implement software modules, features, and machine logic for production and quality-control jigs.
- Test and validate software directly on industrial machines under real operating conditions.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues while improving quality, performance, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, production, and service teams.
- Prepare technical documentation and support troubleshooting activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong C++ development skills and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Interest in industrial systems, machinery, and hands-on engineering work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Fluent English required.
Nice to have
- Experience with industrial, embedded, machine-related, or real-time systems.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, deep learning, image processing, or machine vision.
- Experience with multithreading and hardware-software interfaces.
- Basic TypeScript, HTML, and CSS skills or knowledge of Python.
- German language skills and the ability to work independently.
