TL;DR
Lead Cloud Performance Engineer (A&D, Ultra HA/Exadata): Monitoring, diagnosing, and optimizing mission-critical Oracle Exadata environments, IFS application tiers, and cloud infrastructure with an accent on high availability, observability, and end-to-end performance management. Focus on analyzing AWR/ASH data, SQL execution plans, RAC and Data Guard behavior, application telemetry, capacity constraints, and major-incident root causes.

What you will do
- Provide 24x7x365 performance support for customers in the Aerospace & Defense industry through a shift operation.
- Monitor, triage, and resolve performance degradation across Oracle Exadata, application tiers, cloud, and network infrastructure.
- Lead end-to-end investigations from observability alerts and root cause analysis through permanent fixes, tuning recommendations, and capacity planning.
- Analyze Oracle Database performance using AWR/ASH, wait events, SQL execution plans, RAC, Data Guard, storage, and I/O diagnostics.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and SLO/SLI reporting with Elasticsearch, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry-based tools while reducing alert noise.
- Manage complex incidents, service requests, documentation, knowledge articles, process improvements, and collaboration with R&D and Unified Support teams.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in cloud computing, enterprise IT delivery, or a similar field, including production performance troubleshooting for Oracle Database and enterprise applications.
- University degree or equivalent professional qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong Oracle Database performance monitoring and troubleshooting skills, including AWR/ASH/Statspack, SQL and execution plan tuning, wait event analysis, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Exadata and high-availability architectures, including RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
- Experience with application performance monitoring, observability, cloud operations, Linux, networking, web servers, Kubernetes/Docker, and scripting or infrastructure automation.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to work in international, cross-functional teams and mentor junior colleagues.
