Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform & AI Enablement (AI)

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 annually, plus equity and bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Architect and build core infrastructure components, from foundational storage to highly available service layers.
• Optimize distributed systems internals, including state management, checkpointing, exactly-once semantics, and JVM performance.
• Develop the Knowledge Platform for AI-driven products, including vector indexing, agentic workflows, and real-time data streaming.
• Own the full software development lifecycle for batch and streaming systems processing petabytes of data across more than 30 global regions.
• Build shared tooling, SDKs, and automation frameworks to improve engineering productivity.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and provide technical leadership through design reviews and delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure platforms.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including distributed systems, memory management, and networking protocols.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with, or willingness to deeply explore, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Kubernetes, or OLAP engines.
• Experience taking complex technical challenges from initial design through production stability.
• Interest in AI/ML infrastructure and real-time systems.
