Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Portugal; fully remote

What you will do

• Develop, evaluate, and improve machine learning and generative AI solutions for the Digital Agent Platform.
• Design RAG pipelines using large language models, embeddings, retrieval, ranking, semantic search, and enterprise knowledge sources.
• Improve agent reasoning, tool selection, context management, personalization, task completion, and response quality.
• Build evaluation frameworks, metrics, benchmarks, and offline and online experiments for agent quality, reliability, safety, and customer experience.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data and contribute to scalable training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and production pipelines.
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, software engineers, product managers, and data scientists while communicating findings and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Must be based in Portugal; the role is fully remote.
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, machine learning, analytics, or a related quantitative field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 4+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, applied AI, or a related analytical field.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning, generative AI, large language models, NLP, and modern machine learning frameworks.
• Strong Python skills, experience with SQL and large-scale data processing, and experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Experience taking AI or machine learning solutions from experimentation into production, including evaluation, reliability, data quality, and performance measurement.
