Localization Engineer (With Language Skills) (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Cork, Ireland; onsite attendance may be required as needed. Candidates must be based in Ireland. No relocation assistance is offered.

What you will do

• Drive adoption of AI-powered localization technologies, generative AI, machine translation, LLMs, and workflow automation.
• Design process improvements and support automation through scripting, integrations, and workflow technologies.
• Conduct linguistic quality assurance and maintain language standards, style guides, terminology, and best practices.
• Manage terminology databases, translation memories, taxonomies, ontologies, style guides, language standards, and AI evaluation datasets.
• Partner with stakeholders to resolve linguistic challenges and improve multilingual customer experiences.

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in at least one European language.
• Experience in localization engineering, localization QA, language technology, globalization, content operations, or a related field.
• Experience with translation management systems and localization technologies.
• Strong linguistic expertise, analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience improving workflows and operational processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a global, collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI platforms, prompt engineering, AI-generated multilingual content evaluation, AI governance, or responsible AI.
• Python scripting, REST APIs, system integrations, JSON, XML, Git, GitHub, Power Automate, Logic Apps, or similar workflow platforms.
• Experience with XTM, Smartling, Phrase, MemoQ, Trados, internationalization principles, translation memory, terminology management, or machine translation.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
