TL;DR
Fluid Systems Development Engineer (Aerospace) (Fluid Systems/Cryogenic Propulsion): Developing key fluid systems for the Storm rocket engine with an accent on system architecture, component integration, verification, and validation. Focus on leading trade-off studies, designing pneumatic equipment for demonstrator campaigns, analyzing test data, and anchoring fluid-system models.

Location: Munich, Germany. Relocation assistance is provided, including visa sponsorship where applicable.

What you will do

  • Translate engine-level functional and performance requirements into fluid-system requirements, architectures, and development priorities.
  • Lead architecture trade-off studies, sensitivity analyses, risk assessments, and fluid-system development roadmaps.
  • Design fluid systems and select, develop, and integrate components, including make-or-buy decisions.
  • Define verification and validation strategies, test specifications, acceptance criteria, and compliance evidence.
  • Design pneumatic equipment for demonstrator test campaigns and test-article operations.
  • Analyze test data, validate fluid-system models, and feed lessons learned into future designs and requirements.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or a bachelor’s degree with substantial relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing propulsion fluid systems.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, cryogenic fluids, and fluid components such as check valves and pressure regulators.
  • Fluent English is required. German or French proficiency is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of aerospace standards such as ECSS and NASA guidelines.
  • Experience with Python scripting and 3D CAD software; Siemens NX is an asset.

Nice to have

  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as EcosimPro.
  • Hands-on experience developing hardware from concept through working prototypes.
