Associate Lead Cinematic Animator (Maya)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; full-time, on-site work in the office is required.

What you will do

• Develop, refine, and champion the studio’s cinematic animation style in collaboration with animation leadership.
• Mentor, lead, and grow a team of cinematic animators in Dublin.
• Provide actionable feedback and solve creative problems to achieve cinematic animation quality and visual goals.
• Research technical features and help advance cinematic systems and workflows.
• Coordinate with production and leadership to deliver production plans and schedules.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams to improve and refine studio pipelines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cinematic animation.
• 2+ years of experience as a team lead or manager.
• Experience with both motion capture and keyframe animation.
• Experience working with game engines and a solid understanding of cinematic systems.
• Expertise in Maya, plus experience with Autodesk Flow and technical feature development.
• Experience in visual storytelling, cinematography, staging, and acting.

Nice to have

• Motion capture performance direction.
• MEL or Python scripting.
• Experience working with external outsourcers.
• Experience with gameplay animation systems.
• Experience as a cinematic artist, including scene work, layout, cameras, and storytelling.
