TL;DR
Associate Data Engineer (AWS/SQL): Building and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines, warehouse models, visualisations, and data products for a large-scale online classifieds platform with an accent on batch and real-time processing, cloud infrastructure, and data quality. Focus on designing ETL workflows in Matillion, developing solutions with Redshift and AWS serverless services, and enabling data-driven features across business departments.

What you will do
- Integrate raw data from primary and third-party systems and model operational and application data layers.
- Develop SQL solutions and data warehouse functionality in Amazon Redshift.
- Design and implement ETL workflows in Matillion and real-time pipelines using AWS Lambda, Kinesis, API Gateway, and REST APIs.
- Build data products, dashboards, and advanced visualisations focused on usability and data-driven business solutions.
- Ensure data quality, system stability, security, and consistent coding standards across SQL, Python, and ETL development.
- Own projects end to end, coordinate stakeholders, collaborate with product, technology, finance, marketing, advertising, and other departments, and participate in the early-morning ETL status check rota.
Requirements
- Technical degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline with a strong academic record.
- At least 2 years of experience working with customer-centric data at big-data scale, preferably in online or e-commerce environments.
- At least 1 year of experience with programming languages, especially Python and SQL.
- Experience with modern big-data warehouses, ETL, data visualisation, relational and dimensional data models, and cloud warehousing technologies such as Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Vertica.
- Knowledge of terminal operations and Linux workflows, with the ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated, curious, creative, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while taking ownership of assigned work.
