Waihi Summer Internship – Communications (Mining)

Location: On-site at the Waihi Operation, Waihi, New Zealand. The internship runs from mid-November 2026 to mid-February 2027, with working hours from 7:00am to 4:30pm on a 9-day fortnight roster.

What you will do

• Work on communications projects assigned by department managers and team members.
• Create content for internal and external audiences and produce e-newsletters.
• Support events and other communications activities demonstrating the benefits of mining in Waihi.
• Help educate the public about mining methods and the Waihi North Project.
• Participate in group activities with other interns to build an understanding of the mining process.
• Present internship experiences and key learnings to the Site Management Team.

Requirements

• Unrestricted New Zealand working rights required.
• Availability from mid-November 2026 through mid-February 2027.
• Currently in the second-last or final year of a related Diploma or Bachelor degree.
• Studying Communications, Social Science, Public Relations, Marketing, Design, or Journalism.
• Full Class 1 driver's licence; ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
• Strong academic performance, communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and independent-working skills.
