TL;DR
Commercial Counsel (Gaming): Drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial agreements, employment-related contracts, and intellectual property matters for a global video game organization with an accent on publishing, platform, licensing, technology, and data privacy agreements. Focus on independently managing complex commercial transactions, improving contract resources, and protecting copyrights, trademarks, and domain names while commuting to the Seoul headquarters.

Location: Must commute to the Seoul headquarters office at Yeoksam Centerfield East Tower, South Korea.

hirify.global is a global video game organization that develops and publishes titles including PUBG: Battlegrounds, Subnautica, and inZOI through internationally recognized studios.

What you will do

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on publishing, platform, services, development, licensing, merchandising, technology, software, and data privacy agreements.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal resources.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements and templates.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders across functions, time zones, cultures, and languages.
  • Work with the IP team to identify, register, protect, and enforce copyrights, trademarks, and domain names.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of relevant legal experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with commercial transactions.
  • Law degree and admission to practice in the United States or a common law jurisdiction.
  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to work across time zones, cultures, and languages, including through translators.
  • Ability to independently manage commercial matters with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively.
  • Must commute to the Seoul headquarters office.

Nice to have

  • Korean language proficiency.
  • Experience with legal technology tools or platforms.
  • Background in the video game, entertainment, or software technology industries.
