TL;DR
Executive Director, Global Patient Safety Sciences Delivery (Patient Safety/Pharmacovigilance): Leading global standardization and operational delivery of Safety Sciences activities across therapeutic areas with an accent on signal detection, aggregate safety reporting, compliance, and process governance. Focus on building high-performing teams, scaling global capabilities, integrating AI into safety operations, and coordinating cross-functional benefit-risk and safety assessments.

Location: Tarrytown, NY; Warren, NJ; or Cambridge, MA. Four days per week onsite; travel as needed.

Salary: $285,600–$475,900 annually

What you will do

  • Define strategy, common practices, processes, and templates for consistent Safety Sciences execution across products and therapeutic areas.
  • Oversee signal detection and signal management, including Safety Monitoring Teams, Safety Surveillance Plans, and Signal Evaluation Reports.
  • Coordinate benefit-risk assessments for periodic safety reports and support safety strategy for portfolio documents such as ARM, RMP, and SMP.
  • Establish compliant operating procedures, monitoring tools, training curricula, proficiency matrices, and knowledge management resources.
  • Enable the Global Capability Center to operate efficiently and scale with business demands, including through new technologies and AI.
  • Partner with Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Biostatistics, Data Management, Safety Sciences TAHs, and GPS Leads.

Requirements

  • MD, PA, PhD, or PharmD degree required; board certification or an equivalent qualification in a relevant clinical specialty required. An MBA is advantageous.
  • 17+ years of experience in pharmacovigilance or relevant clinical experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 6+ years of team leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong experience optimizing Safety Sciences operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving consistent, high-quality execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, workload planning, and multitasking skills.

  • Experience overseeing operations within a global patient safety organization.
