What you will do
- Operate and assist with maintaining technical services laboratory metallographic equipment.
- Analyze steel microstructures and mechanical properties using metallographic equipment, microscopes, macro analysis, and hardness testing.
- Document professional-quality images for technical service reports for internal and external customers.
- Summarize laboratory findings through email, Microsoft Teams, and other communication channels.
- Evaluate Hercules and Niagara Lasalle accumulation claims.
- Identify manufacturing defects related to casting, hot rolling, processing, and forming.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a four-year Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree program.
- At least sophomore-level standing and a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
