TL;DR
Senior Product Designer (AI): Designing and optimizing the Lightspeed onboarding funnel for retailers with an accent on simplifying complex workflows, reducing manual effort, and creating clear user journeys. Focus on design systems, data-informed product decisions, AI-assisted design, and collaboration with product and engineering teams to improve merchant activation.
Location: Auckland, New Zealand, with flexible work from the Auckland office. Remote work from anywhere in the world is available for up to 60 days per year.

What you will do
- Lead product design projects for the onboarding experience with autonomy, facilitating design reviews and collaborative working sessions.
- Define and optimize onboarding flows for retailers with different store sizes, product catalogs, and operational needs.
- Transform complex workflows into simple interfaces, reducing steps and manual effort while improving onboarding milestones.
- Use research and data to identify opportunities and turn customer insights into tangible product solutions.
- Design cohesive systems, flows, interfaces, and micro-interactions across responsive web and native applications.
- Explore AI and emerging technologies while collaborating with product, engineering, marketing, and design teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of in-house product, UX/UI design experience.
- Strong experience simplifying complex workflows and creating clear, user-friendly customer journeys.
- Deep knowledge of UX, UI design, design systems, product strategy, and visual design.
- Experience designing for responsive web, native applications, and other digital or physical product manifestations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, empathy, and self-awareness.
- Experience with Figma, Google Suite, JIRA, and AI prototyping tools.

- Experience working with AI tools to improve design processes and product experiences.
- Experience with high-traffic products and global user bases.
