Student Engineering Intern (Mechanical or Electrical)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska or Juneau, Alaska, USA; work is based in the hirify.globaltive offices and includes job-site exposure.

What you will do

• Support mechanical and electrical engineering staff on facility and utility design projects.
• Assist with mechanical calculations, electrical system calculations, and design development.
• Create drawings and construction documents for electrical designs.
• Assist with construction administration, field inspections, and site observations.
• Collaborate with project teams, local architects, construction inspectors, clients, and multidisciplinary staff.
• Develop engineering, drafting, and construction documentation skills through mentoring and hands-on project work.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Prior experience in design or construction.
• Computer skills and experience using modern collaboration technologies.
• Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
• Available to work 40 hours per week during the summer months.
