What you will do

• Conduct independent research at the intersection of biomedical image analysis, artificial intelligence, and statistical genetics.
• Develop and validate machine-learning methods for image segmentation, representation learning, and quantitative image-derived phenotypes.
• Analyze population-scale imaging, genomic, multi-omics, and longitudinal clinical datasets.
• Perform genetic association and statistical analyses to characterize imaging-derived phenotypes and identify potential therapeutic targets.
• Build robust, reproducible computational workflows using advanced CPU and GPU infrastructure.
• Collaborate with AI, human genetics, bioinformatics, clinical science, and therapeutic-discovery specialists; present and publish findings.

Requirements

• PhD completed before the start date in engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science, bioinformatics, mathematics, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, biomedical image or signal processing, statistical genetics, biostatistics, or computational genomics.
• Proficiency in Python, R, C/C++, or similar programming languages.
• Strong scientific record with peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale biomedical imaging, human genetic, genomic, multi-omics, or other high-dimensional biomedical datasets.
• Experience with deep-learning frameworks, modern image-analysis methods, Linux, and high-performance or GPU computing.
